A self-declared heir to the blues tradition and a flawlessly eloquent spokesperson for the ways in which women have been its chief inventors, Adia Victoria has followed up 2016’s “Beyond the Bloodhounds” with “Silences,” a Francoise Hardy-styled, 12-track exercise in confrontation that Victoria says sprung from her post-tour return home, and from “having to deal with myself once again on an intimate level.”

Check out our conversation in 2017 with Victoria here, and don’t miss this powerhouse when she rolls through town, ever. Joshua Asante opens the show.
