Irish folklorist and musician Mick Moloney will perform with Dana Lyn in the Saturday, March 26, Arkansas Celtic Music Society show. The show will be at Gaucho’s Banquet Room in the Village at Rahling Circle, just off Chenal Parkway in West Little Rock. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Admission is $15 and tickets will be available at the door.
At 2:30 p.m. before the show, Moloney will give a talk, “Rose in the Heather: Developments in Irish Traditional Music Since the 1960s” at Gaucho’s. Admission is $5.
The singer and mandolin and tenor banjo player plays traditional Irish and Irish-American songs and instrumental pieces. He has recorded and produced more than 50 albums and teaches in the Irish Studies program at New York University’s Glucksman Ireland House.
Lyn performs extensively throughout her native Bay Area of California and in New York, her current base. She’s performed at the Cork Folk Festival in Ireland and has toured Japan with guitarist Junji Shirota, her collaborator on an album.
