Governor Sarah Sanders has appointed William Olson as the interim director of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control division.
Olson previously worked as an attorney for state Tobacco Control, which falls under the Department Finance and Administration, as does ABC.
Olson started the job on Monday, replacing Michael Lewis, who left the job for a position in the Attorney General’s office.
Olson’s salary will increase from $78,284.54 to $96,960, the same amount Lewis was making in the position.
The last day for previous Interim Director Michael Lewis was Friday. His salary was also $96,960.00.
The ABC has not had a permanent director since Doralee Chandler left in February to take a job in the Attorney General’s Office.
The ABC regulates manufacture, distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages and regulates the state medical marijuana industry.
