Washington Regional
Washington Regional is currently accepting applications for nursing student scholarships. Two (2) scholarships, both sponsored by the Harmon E. Lushbaugh Endowment, will be awarded through the Speaking of Women’s Health program. Deadline for applications is Monday, July 31, 2006
Eligibility:
• Any female pursuing a career in nursing
• Applicant must have a current grade point average of 2.75 or greater
• And be willing to work for Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville City Hospital or another Washington Regional entity after graduation. Student must maintain a cumulative grade point of 2.75 or greater during the subsidized semesters.
• Applicant may be in any year of an accredited program to apply but priority will be given to those in the final years of their education or training program.
Scholarship recipients will be chosen by a Scholarship Selection Committee based on academic records, written recommendations/references, and summary of career goals. Scholarships will be awarded for the Spring 2007 semester. Scholarship recipients will be notified on or before August 31, 2006 and a formal presentation will be made at Washington Regional’s Speaking of Women’s Health Conference on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Northwest Arkansas Holiday Inn and Convention Center during the luncheon awards ceremony.
Speaking of Women’s Health educates women to make informed decisions about their health, well-being and personal safety. October 7 will be a fun-filled, entertaining and informative event that will shed light on healthcare issues concerning women. Proceeds from this event will benefit women’s health resources at Washington Regional.
