An anxious AmyB is ready for the raindrops to stop and to get out partying with the rest of you, but first she has her radio show, as she notes at the end of this Gettin’ Out report:

Is it ever going to stop raining? The weather folks said we should see some sun today, I have yet to see it … but rain or shine there’s a few happenings, some naughty, some nice.

Nice: From Chicago, OK Go does power pop like the Cars, eccentric like the Talking Heads, rockin’ like the Pixies … if you’re tired of the comparisons, here’s the link: www.myspace.com/okgo. It’s smaht rock. Stadium rock, Weezer, Vines, you know … you’ll like it. They were on Conan last month. It’s $12 at Juanita’s (thanks, Glen). The Lashes and Tally Hall open at 9 p.m., all ages.

One for the money, two for the show at Afterthought tonight 8 p.m., no cover.
4 Real, a blues and R&B local band (starring William Staggers) makes you wanna do the funky monkey. We caught Staggers at Aftrethought, and he did “You Must Be an Angel,” for us for a mere tip of $2. That was nice of him. They’ll start at 9 p.m. Admission is $5. For real, it’s good stuff.

The band Cherrywood will provide the backdrop for poetry night at Jazzy’s, 5200 Asher Ave. Call for more information at 562-6919.

Straddlling the naughty/nice ratio at White Water tonight, it’s Esque, Bang, Bang, An A+ Set up. It’ll be good n’ loud for sure. 10 p.m.. $5.

Now for Naughty: Let’s all change into something a little more comfortable: the semifinals of the “Naughty Nightwear” contest is tonight at the Electric Cowboy. It’s all women, in case you were wondering, and they’ve been getting all dolled up it scanties and garter belts and all of that from Cupid’s lingerie.  Women are free until 8 p.m., otherwise the price of admission for both sexes is $5. The showing of the underwear should start at 11:30 p.m.

I may be out, after I watch the new episode of “Lost.” Lots of things happened last episode. What was up with Michael? Oh well, we know Locke will save the day.

I’m on the way to do my radio show, on KABF 88.3. Listen if you can today, it may be the perfect complement to this weather. 3-5 p.m. I’m thinking that I’m gonna play some R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Charlie Musselwhite, and some ooooooollllllldddddddd stuff from Skip James and Blind Willie McTell. Tune in if you can!
