Red Octopus’ 15th annual “Pagan’s on Bobsleds” sketch comedy show continues through this weekend. This year, it’s titled “The Snowman Cometh.”

Shows are scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Easy Street Cabaret, 307 W. Seventh St. Doorsp open at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students, and the shows (all non-smoking) are for mature audiences.

Sandy Baskin, senior writer who has worked on all 15 holiday shows, says, “After a few years of skewering religion, holiday spirit, and questioning whether to drape the tinsel or throw it, you’d think the ideas would run out. But after visits with family, the current political agenda, and constant takes on ‘superficiality,’ the season never runs dry for topics.  I love Christmas!”

Joining Baskin are Josh Doering, John Andrew Ellis, Jami Kath Harrison, Michael Henderson, Donavan Suitt, Jason Thompson and Jason Willey. The show was written and directed by the cast, along with ghostwriters Brooks Caruthers and Jennifer Pierce.

Red Octopus is dedicating this week’s performances to the memory of 10-year veteran cast member, Jason Gregory, who died in October. Board member and writer Jason Thompson says, “Jason Gregory was a brilliant writer, actor, and a dear friend.  His presence in this production will be felt.”

This year’s show takes on mall shopping, Batman and Robin, Christmas parties, family gatherines, gifts for kiddies and more, and Mr. Santa naturally makes his appearance.
