Extended Soophie Nun Squad family tells me that the seminal local act will NOT play its final show ever as part of Towncraft Week on May 18. Drummer Mark Lierly went and broke his wrist. We’ll have to wait for the final dose of screaming-unitard-puppet goodness — which Soophie’s been bringing since 1992 (!) — until Mark’s wrist can heal and the band can navigate the logistics of getting all dozen or so (it’s always hard to tell) of its members in the same place at once.

In the meantime, educate yourself with what’s surely the longest Wikipedia entry on any local act not named Evanescence, or reminisce with some great photos and video on the Towncraft site.
