Kat Robinson of Tie Dye Travels is still chowing down in Memphis, lately at a new Blue Plate Cafe downtown that can stoke the furnace enough for a cotton picker. Follow the link for full review, but she comments to us when sending the huevos rancheros snap:
For years, crowds have fought over parking spots and huddled in the elements for the chance to eat at the Blue Plate Cafe on Poplar in Memphis. Now, there’s another option for those who don’t want to brave the line. Another outlet of the family favorite is open on Court Street downtown — a more spacious, art-friendly location. But don’t be fooled. You’ll find the same gut-busting large portions and slim prices as at the original location. Between the biscuits, the eggs, and the pancakes — it’s amazing that someone hasn’t thought to hire a wheelbarrow toting service for packed patrons unable to move after injesting epicurean edibles in this palace of good home cooking.
