“Good Vibes,” the animated show written by David Gordon Green and commissioned by Fox that I told you about a few weeks back, now has a cast of voices: Josh Gad (“Back to You”), Adam Brody (“The O.C.”), Debi Mazar (“Entourage”), Olivia Thirlby (“Juno”), Alan Tudyk (“3:10 to Yuma”) and Jake Busey (“Broken”).

Gad will play Mondo, an out-of-shape, shaggy-haired teen looking to master surfing and win over Jeena (voiced by Thirlby)—who thinks of Mondo more like a brother.

Brody is onboard as Woodie, Mondo’s best friend, while Busey will play Turk, Mondo’s chief rival. Mazar plays Babs, Mondo’s mother. Tudyk will voice Lonnie, an old surf bum who doubles as the show’s narrator. [Variety]

The show’s likely to debut in spring.

Today also brings news that Green’s signed on to direct an adaptation of the comic “Freaks of the Heartland,” which follows a young boy as he tries to protect his “monster” of a six-year-old brother from the worst instincts of his parents and the rest of the small town where they live. And possibly the brother is actually a monster.

No word on when filming begins.

According to Variety, “A Precious Few,” the long-rumored demolition derby movie, co-written by Green and Danny McBride, could start shooting soon.

And there aren’t any updates on “Your Highness,” the fantasy comedy Green and McBride are supposed to do.
