Lavender-glazed carrot soup with herb bread and olive oil.

While out and about with my mother this past weekend, we ran over to 411 Main Street in North Little Rock to have lunch at Starving Artist Cafe. I’ve always heard wonderful things about the food and am happy to say the reviews were right on.

On special for Saturday was a lavender-glazed carrot soup. The flavor was sweet and earthy with a hint of cream, and the lavender lingered delicately on my tongue after each spoonful. It was absolutely delicious. My mother and I both wished we had ordered the bowl instead of the cup. Their warm herb bread served with olive oil was a perfect accompaniment to the soup.
