Ben Nichols talks about the rigors of playing himself.

Craig Brewer’s new MTV series, “$5 Cover,” which I told you about way back when, debuts tonight on MTV. Originally, it was destined to be web only, but when MTV saw the finished project, it snapped it up for TV, too. Every Friday in May, at 11 p.m., MTV will show three mini-episodes, or “tracks,” in 30 minutes. The episodes will air online here, too.

According to this really in-depth article on the series in the Memphis Flyer, Ben Nichols’ big story arc comes in episode nine, which should air on May 15. In the episode, Lucero plays Young Avenue Deli and Nichols, hot girl in tow, rides his motorcycle over the bridge into Arkansas.

Surely, it’ll at least be better than “Rockville, CA,” which I find myself watching every once in a while when I’ve really exhausted the well of web-procrastinating.
