The Big O.
Damn, this is a good idea: Tonight, at White Water, local man-about-town Seth Baldy hosts a soul music dance party in honor of Otis Redding’s birthday. He’ll project archival footage of live shows from various performers and kick out a soundtrack that, if “Sing, Sweat & Shout: The Soul of the South,” the mix he’s providing for free to the first 100 people through the door, is any indication, will be a history lesson in the great riches of ’60s era soul that’ll having you getting down all night long, 9 p.m., free.
At Juanita’s, young pop-punk act Framing Hanley headlines a bill that also features Transmit, Sore Eyes and Signum AD, 9 p.m., $15.
As usual, the Lucious Spiller Band plays Sticky Fingerz, 9:30 p.m, $5, with cheap drink specials.
