Little Rock artist Kevin Kresse and family are planning to pull up stakes and move to Italy for a year, where the Little Rock artist will either teach at an arts B and B north of Luca (yes, Little Rock artist Pepper Pepper’s B and B) or work in Rome at the American Academy if he receives the Rome Prize. He’ll find out in March if the fellowship is coming his way.
And that’s why today and tomorrow you can go to the old Rye Furniture building at 201 Maple in North Little Rock and buy what Kresse laughingly called some “early funny” works of painting and sculpture (he was quoting Woody Allen, he said). Included in the “Estate Sale,” as its being called by Roy Dudley, or the “garage sale with a pinkie extended,” as Kresse puts it, are also household items, toys, furniture, etc. John Gaudin provided the space for Kresse.
The sale starts at 10 a.m. today and runs to 5 p.m. Tomorrow’s hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To see more of Kresse’s work (including the painting above), go here.
