Benton is just not known for its sports bars. This I can say with some confidence. So having Touchdown Sally’s along Interstate 30 is definitely a windfall. We’re not talking too-smoky-to-breathe sort of sports bar. No, Touchdown Sally’s makes a point of being very family friendly. Which is good… when you’re checking out a new restaurant and you have a toddler with you.

We stopped in a short while back and gave a few of the dishes a try. We were in a sampling mood — and our waiter suggested we try an appetizer trio — which isn’t on the menu, but sounded good to us, three choices off the appetizer menu we’d try together. We went for the mini tacos, mini egg rolls, and cream cheese stuffed peppers. These were all pretty good, but what made them great were the served up sauces — Ranch dip, a sweet sesame seed-studded sauce for the egg rolls and a spicy salsa type dip for the mini tacos. Not bad.
