It might be heresy in these parts to even consider boiling a fish, when such successful elements such as deep frying and breading our catch have taken such a hold here. But in Ephraim, WI and areas all along the Door County peninsula, the temperate weather brings people out to gather around fish boils. The spectacle is played out over and over again on beaches and at restaurants, a waiting game involving hot water, fish, potatoes and kerosene. Dinner and a show, if you will.
