I’m going to head over later to the Arkansas Studies Institute see Maxine Payne’s “Making Pictures: Three for a Dime,” her photographic installation that documents the Massingills, an Arkansas family that traveled the state taking photographs with a camera of the family’s one making and selling them (three for a dime). I’m thinking shades of Disfarmer, but with a twist — interpretation by a contemporary artist. (Read my review here.)

ASI (401 President Clinton Ave.) also hosts a reception for a juried show of work by members of the Arkansas League of Artists tonight for its 2nd Friday Art Night.
