There’s a filmsplosion in Arkansas. Cameras and other equipment are relatively cheap and everyone’s got a story to tell. This one, set in Central Arkansas and featuring a lot of White Countians (woot, woot!), seems to be about teen angst and mystery. Possibly of the supernatural variety? Nancy Liles, Searcy, Arkansas’ finest actress (and DJ Ike Plumlee’s momma) features.

Directors Brian White and Chris Thompson are planning to submit “The Gleaning” to the Little Rock Film Fest.

UPDATE: The trailer will screen tonight at ACAC’s “Show Your Shorts” night along with several shorts by Times contributor Levi Agee and Adrian Tillman (AKA 607), respectively, 8-10:30 p.m., 608 Main.
