Brilliant as I am, I don’t always put every new exhibit on my blog. And I rarely post calls for artists to enter work in exhibits across the state. And sometimes, the newspaper is too tight to get into print all the new exhibits that have opened. But even if I am derelict on Eye Candy, you can still find art event announcements on the Times‘ website — on the clickable calendar! That’s the calendar on the bottom right of the homepage. Click the art tab to bring up all art events, or choose a day on the calendar and see what’s happening on that day.

An example of what you’ll find under the “Call for Entries” category once you get in to the calendar:

The Center for Artistic Revolution (CAR) is seeking artists to create art with blank wooden hearts to be auctioned for CAR’s fund-raiser “Corazon.” Hearts are provided by CAR (call 244-9690 or e-mail artchanges@yahoo.com) and are due by March 27. The 7th annual Corazon (Heart) Art Auction will be held April 2 at the ACAC, 608 Main St. Proceeds go to support CAR’s work to educate and support lesbian, gay, transgendered and bisexuals, both youth and adult.

So, art lovers, seek and you shall find, not just here at Eye Candy but on the Arkansas Times online calendar.
