BUDDY GUY

Woo! No more of that cumbersome, utilitarian name “Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival” that, well, no one really used anyway. The King Biscuit Blues Festival is coming back for its 26th year on October 6-8 in downtown Helena.

This year’s lineup is another doozy with Buddy Guy and his wicked polka dot guitars, Delbert McClinton, and Keb’ Mo’ headlining.

Other acts we’re looking forward to: Little Rock regulars Bobby Rush and T-Model Ford; harmonica monster Willie “Big Eyes” Smith doing a hometown gig; 95-year old living legend David “Honeyboy” Edwards; and the legendary studio musicians better known as the M.G.s, Eddie Floyd, Duck Dunn and Steve Cropper.

And from where I’m standing, it looks like the Times is going to load up the Booze Blues Bus again this year! We’ll have more information on that as soon as a plan comes together. Good, good, good, good, good times last year.
