Browning’s Mexican Grill, the Heights institution that’s been closed for almost exactly a year and under renovation since last October, says on its Facebook page that it will open to the public today at 4 p.m. and operate with a limited menu and under limited hours for its first week in business.

I haven’t been able to get anyone to pick up at Browning’s to confirm. I’ll update this post when I do.

If you’ve followed the Browning’s renovation process, there’s some reason to doubt today’s opening. In my interview with new owner Steve Davis last year, he estimated the renovations would be completed by December. And if you browse back through Browning’s Facebook wall, you’ll find at least half a dozen target dates for opening, going all the way back to February.

Hope it’s worth the wait!

UPDATE: Looks like things did not go quite to plan.
