Illegal immigration is without a doubt one of the most contentious topics of the day. The new film “Gospel Without Borders” follows several Christian activists for whom the gospel transcends boundaries and the laws of the state, according to a statement from the film’s producers, which include the United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas.

“Although Christians honor the law and respect those in authority, Christians are also called to a higher law: to God’s law to love the neighbor,” according to the statement.

Tuesday night at 7 p.m., New Millennium Baptist Church in Little Rock will screen the film, which will “equip Christian leaders with a needed moral education tool to challenge the negative cultural ethos” and help churches “debunk myths, rediscover the Bible’s moral message and learn compelling stories about goodwill Christians,” according to the statement.

The film was shot in five states, and addresses some of the recently passed anti-immigrant laws in Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina, according to the release.

After the film, a panel discussion will take place, with Dr. Robert Parham, Bishop Charles Crutchfield of the United Methodist Church, Bishop Anthony Taylor of the Roman Catholic Church and Paul Charton of the Catlett Law Firm.
