The Red Door Gallery, 3715 JFK Blvd. in North Little Rock, is hosting a reception from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, for artist Pat Matthews, who’ll have 30 new works at the gallery.

The works include an Arkansas-shaped canvas with an Arkansas Razorback in the middle of splashy color; Matthews has been licensed by the Collegiate Licensing Association and the University of Arkansas to produce oils featuring the Razorback. I’ve e-mailed the artist to see how that works.

The show, called “Celebrate Color,” also includes a flag painting, “God Bless America”; sale proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project. Matthews’ flag paintings are hugely popular, so the project is certain to benefit.

The show is called “Celebrate Color.”

UPDATE: Matthews says the license to produce images including the Razorback requires him to pay a royalty fee on all sales.
