The Arkadelphia Arts Center, which the Clark County Arts and Humanities Council has been putting together in the former Royal Theater downtown, will open Tuesday, Oct. 11, with a ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m. and a reception to follow. Farrell Ford, a founder of the Caddo River Art Guild, is a mover behind the new arts center, so this year’s Round About Artist Studio Tour Oct. 14-16 will have a presence at the Arts Center.
We cruised the Round About Artist Studio Tour website to check out the talent and found work by a freshman at Henderson State University who plans to major in graphic design. Justin Smith’s work looks pretty professional already:
Rounding back to the Arts Center, at 625 Main St.: The facility will serve the Arts and Humanities Council, the Caddo River Art Guild, the Arkadelphia Little Theater, Arkadelphia Poets and Writers Guild, Arkadelphia Philharmonic and area schools and colleges. The Cedar Grove Pickers will play at the opening.
