  • NO MORE FISH: Cayenne’s Cajun Cuisine closes

It’s sad when restaurants close… I’m not talking about the few truly mediocre ones, those I feel a sense of relief with. It’s when restaurants that have a good product just don’t make it.

For instance: Cayenne’s Cajun Cuisine in Jacksonville. It seemed to have a healthy crowd each time I passed by and the food was pretty good (the seafood gumbo was excellent) but it just didn’t manage to make it.

Another: Sorella’s, the Italian family restaurant in Cabot, has a message on its answering machine that simply says it’s closed down. No mention of why.

I was especially sad to hear of the passing of La Valentina down in Benton. Their Shrimp al Mojo de Ajo was marvelous, and I really thought they were going to make it… but the restaurant went dark in August.
