“Imagined/Observed: Dan Thornhill and Jon Shannon Rogers,” paintings, opened today in the Second Floor Gallery of the Historic Arkansas Museum; the 2nd Friday Art Night reception at 5-8 p.m. tonight will feature music by the Smittle Band.

“The J.V. Double: Jorge Villegas and Jim Volkert”; “Reel to Reel: Gone with the Wind and the Civil War” and “Playing at War: Children’s Civil War Era Toys from the Collection of Greg McMahon” are also on display, along with the permanent exhibit “We Walk in Two Worlds: The Caddo, Quapaw and Osage in Arkansas.”

October Saturdays at HAM include free blacksmithing demonstrations in the new Blacksmith Shop.
