A Los Angeles sculptor has opened a gallery in the space next door to Ten Thousand Villages on President Clinton Avenue in the River Market district. The gallery wasn’t open today, but Ten Thousand Villages supplied the name of the artist, Ryan T. Schmidt, an Arkansas native. Several sculptures and a painting are visible from the street. More — including the name of the gallery — when I have it!

The image above, by the way, is from Schmidt’s website and not the gallery. The new business is quite a change from its predecessor, Green Grass Rock ‘n’ Roll Grocery and Bodega.
