The oft-beleaguered Hot Springs Documentary Film Institute has announced a new partnership with the Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce that the HSDFI hopes will help shore up their finances, and let them concentrate on the Film Festival set for October 12-21.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Chamber will provide free office space for the HSDFI for five years, and handle their bookkeeping. Chamber CEO Dave Byerly will also take a seat on the festival board.

In a press release announcing the partnership, HSDFI board chair Susan Altrui, said that the institute will be working to develop more transparent financial reporting procedures, with a goal of building the confidence of potential donors.
