It’s not even 90 degrees outside, so you need not fear that you’ll sweat on the artwork tonight at the Argenta ArtWalk from 5-8 p.m. You might even be served a cool drink of something or other as you stroll North Little Rock’s art district on Main Street downtown. Here’s some of the things I’ve been told you’ll see; you’ll no doubt see more when you go:
At Laman Library’s Argenta branch (506 Main St.), catch Endia Baumgarner demonstrating her painting technique. Photographs of Alaska by Cathy Kirkpatrick along with watercolors by Marty Smith and paintings by Mike Spain are Paint Box Gallery (705 Main St.).
Emily Mitchell, the administrative coordinator at the Thea Foundation, is showing abstract work on paper and board at Thea (401 Main St.) Greg Thompson Fine Art (429 Main St.) has extended its “Best of the South” exhibition and added to it works by Jerry Phillips and Kendall Stallings.
There will also be the “Gathering of Artists” independents up and down Main, work by the students at Art Connection (204 E. 4th) and Claytime Pottery (417 Main St.) and Doug Gorrell Fine Art (401 N. Maple) will also be open.
