Connecticut painter Eric Forstmann will be on hand tonight at the Thea Foundation, which is hosting a reception for its exhibition of his landscapes and other work.
The reception is from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Forstmann will give a talk at 7 p.m. There will be libations, including a special drink created for the evening by Capital Hotel mixologist Colter Puterbaugh, and music by the Funk A Nites.
Limited edition prints of Forstmann’s “Six @ 3 p.m.,” a painting of shirts hung along a wall, including a pink shirt with the Thea Foundation logo on the collar to represent Thea Leopoulos, will be on sale for $275. (See below.) All proceeds from the sales will benefit Thea.
Forstmann studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Boston/Tufts University. Kevin Bacon, Annette Bening, Robert Rauschenberg, and Alfred and Judith Taubman have collected his work, which is also in museum permanent collections. His work will remain at Thea until Aug. 30.
