Shotz!, a Fayetteville nightclub on Dickson Street, is hoping to open a second location in the River Market, raising objections from some city officials and downtown businesses.
Shotz! offers various flavors of shots that come in shot glasses sculpted out of ice. Once patrons take their shot, they’re encouraged to smash the ice on the floor.
LRPD Vice detective Chris Ringgold said that they have received objections from city officials, business owners and residents. Ringgold said that a few area bar owners had offered support for the permit. Little Rock Police Chief Stuart Thomas will likely contact Alcoholic Beverage Control next week if there is an official objection from LRPD.
The owners of Shotz! also own Stir in Fayetteville. According to Ringgold, since 2008, Stir has had one “good neighbor” violation, four selling-alcohol-to-minors violations, three serving-alcohol-to-intoxicated-persons violations, and one disorderly conduct violation. The club is currently on a one-year probation scheduled to end in December of this year. Shotz! since 2008 has had two selling-alcohol-to-minors violations.
The private club permit for Shotz! will likely be before the ABC board next month.
Attempts to reach the owners of Shotz! and Stir have been unsuccessful thus far.
