Jean Heslip, events coordinator at the Arkansas Arts Center, chose Ashcan artist Jerome Myers’ “Washington Square Looking South” to hang in the atrium as this week’s entry in the “50 Works 50 Weeks 50 Years” exhibition celebrating the Arts Center’s anniversary.

The 1895 pastel, pencil and gouache on paper was purchased in 1997 with a gift from the Roy and Christine Sturgis Charitable and Educational Trust, Barry B. Findley and Katie Speer.
