We have a pretty strong line-up of food bloggers and critics here in Little Rock, but other than the weekly show Arkansas Cooks, nobody has branched out into talking about food in an audio format. All that changes today with the launch of the Little Rock Foodcast, a project by local foodie and barbecue genius Steve Shuler. Steve’s a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and has a history with local broadcasting that resulted in an Emmy award and an Associated Press award.

Steve’s a really smart, genuine guy, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know him and his wife Jen over the past year. They also have an adorable daughter who loves Big Orange just like her daddy. Steve’s very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of cooking, preparation, and what tastes good — so this podcast is guaranteed to be worth a listen.

Steve’s launching today with an ambitious lineup of five podcasts in five days, then one podcast a week following. His inaugural segment focuses on the man behind David’s Burgers, which for my money is one of the best burgers in town. You can find the Little Rock Foodcast here, like it over on Facebook here, and follow the podcast on Twitter here. Best of luck to Steve, and thanks to him for supporting local food!
