The Little Rock Film Festival will be bringing a new monthly film series to the Ron Robinson Theater highlighting music-themed films, “both new and classic, documentary and narrative,” starting March 1, with Chris Terry and David Lipke’s sludge metal documentary, “Slow Southern Steel.” The film delves deep into the Southern metal scene, featuring interviews shot, as the filmmakers claim, “in back alleys, parking lots, and the seedy green rooms of the dirtiest clubs that the Bible Belt failed to snuff out,” starring sludge metal icons from Eyehategod to Dark Castle, and with narration by Weedeater frontman “Dixie” Dave Collins. The screening will be free and followed by an acoustic set by Jeremiah James Baker. Trailer after the jump.
