… and the list goes on, for the group exhibit that opens Friday, Jan. 9. Cantrell Gallery will serve birthday cake and sparkling wine at the opening reception, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., to mark the anniversary.
Cantrell Gallery was opened in 1970 by Helen and Norman Scott, parents of current co-owner Cindy Scott-Huisman, in a storefront on Seventh Street. Old-timers like me will remember, as Scott-Huisman points out, that the street was “furniture row,” with businesses like Steinkamp and Strawn. The gallery moved to its current location in 1976.
