Artist Rachel Trusty, like Emperor Napoleon III before her, has organized an exhibition of works that were rejected from the Arkansas Arts Center’s annual Delta Exhibition, the “Delta des Refuses.” There may be an Arkansas version of Manet, Cezanne or Pissarro among the 1863 Salon des Refuses-inspired show, so check them out at the Argenta branch of the Laman Public Library tonight, Friday, from 5-8 p.m., Argenta ArtWalk. The show runs through Oct. 16.

I don’t have a complete list of artists who’ll be included. More than 350 artists from four states were rejected, but not all will be represented here. (No applicants were rejected). There will be many works, however, Trusty said. She also said the Arts Center has been gladly promoting the show.

Trusty says she hopes to do the show annually.
