For as long as The Root down on Main Street has been open, people have been clamoring for dinner service. Owners Jack and Cori Sundell announced earlier in the year that they were planning to begin serving dinner at some point in 2015, and it looks like that time is soon upon us. To preview items from their new dinner menu, The Root has announced a Pop Up Dinner at their cafe on Friday, November 13 from 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

*Soup and Salad: Winter Squash Soup & Autumn Vegetable Salad
*Appetizer: Cheddar Risotto with Pickled Turnips and Black Apples
*Main: Cider-braised Short Rib with Collards, Cornbread, and Pecans
*Dessert: Blackberry Sage Ice Cream with Buttermilk Pound Cake
