Some the best memories I have of my childhood are the various church, school and family trips I went on to Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs. Even as an adult, my inner child gives a shout of pure glee every time they fire up that giant Tesla coil with a boom and a crackle that makes the hair stand up on my arms. It’s a fun and fantastic place.

How could it get better? Like this: For the past decade-and-a-half, Mid-America has held “Taste of the Holidays,” an eat, drink and be merry party full of local music, food and other activities. This year’s event will be held Thursday, November 19, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Proceeds from the event benefit the museum, and the folks at Mid-America will also be awarding a $1000 scholarship to a local graduating student.
