Canine and all-beef hot dogs coming up: Bark Bar, which will feature an indoor/outdoor dog park for its four-footed patrons and adult beverages and wieners for its humans, opens Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 1201 S. Spring St.

Co-owner Elizabeth Michael sniffed out the need for a place where folks can enjoy a drink and their best friends, too. While Bark Bar patrons enjoy a cockertail and a “Red Rocket” all-beef hot dog, their hounds can romp in the fenced play area next to the renovated church or stay indoors with their owners, where they will no doubt sit at attention as their owners down\ cheese dip and daily dogs. You know the stare, right?

A VIP Grand Opening Pawty is set for Aug. 26, National Dog Day, and will feature live puppy portraits, a photo booth, entertainment, and food and drink specials. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here at Bark Bar’s pun-filled webpage.

Vaccination records are required for dogs. A day pass for a dog is $5, but monthly and annual memberships may be purchased. (Humans need not provide medical records.) Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
