Tickets are now on sale for the third dinner in the Historic Arkansas Museum’s “History is Served” series, set for 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. July 26. Each dinner focuses on influences on Arkansas cuisine; July’s dinner theme is the foodways of German and Scottish settlers during Arkansas’s territorial period, including immigrants like Jesse Hinderliter, who ran the Hinderliter Grog Shop tavern and boarding house on the museum’s historic block.

Capi Peck of Trio’s Restaurant will be guest chef, and George Brothers Historic Arkansas Ale, based on a historic recipe and brewed by Stone’s Throw Brewing Co., will be served. Tickets are $45 ($35 for museum members) and will be available online at historicarkansas.org. The other dinners have sold out quickly.

The History is Served series is based on a similar program at Colonial Williamsburg.
