This week, Omaya talks with visual artist and Zine Night organizer Matthew Castellano, and we talk “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” Club Sway’s “Rocky Horror” and more.

Matthew Castellano, a visual artist from South Miami who’s been working in Little Rock for years, talks with Omaya Jones about how he landed in Harrison, Arkansas, and how he made his way to Little Rock and became involved in the local art scene.

Check out the project Castellano’s currently spearheading to feature emerging artists through a series called “Ice Box,” and catch Castellano at Zine Night Saturday, November 3 at Gallery 360.
Finally, we make some recommendations:

Omaya recommends that you vote, that you check out the Zine Night tomorrow at Gallery 360 (900 S. Rodney Parham Rd.), and that you check out our next Arkansas Times Film Series screening, Juzo Itami’s “Tampopo,” on Monday, November 19.

Stephanie suggests you go check out David Harrower’s “Blackbird,” playing this weekend at The Studio Theatre, or go catch the closing weekend of Club Sway’s “Rocky Horror Show,” directed by and starring actor Brittany Sparkles. Sparkles is fiercely charismatic in the role; sort of a hybrid between Dita von Teese and Tav Falco, with Suzi Quatro’s voice. Check it out:

Finally, Rebekah Hall recommends you try out “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” a witchy new series on Netflix that operates peripherally to the “Riverdale” universe and stars (formerly known as Sally Draper on “Mad Men.”)
