It’s Fat Tuesday, and you are not in New Orleans. The deities of the Carnival feast, surely, would not have you boo-hooing about that state of affairs; After all, the history of Mardi Gras is hardly geographically specific, and if you’re given a choice between flambeaux-ing in the French Quarter, flambeaux-ing in Central Arkansas or not flambeaux-ing at all, by all means, flambeaux where you’re planted, reveler.

To that end, a new group of party purveyors going by the name of Sunday Jubilee Productions is throwing a costume party at the White Water Tavern tonight, with a group of University of Central Arkansas’s jazz faculty, students and alum called the Sunday Jubilee Jazz All-Stars, joined by Ben “Swamp Donkey” Brenner.

Music kicks off at 7:30 p.m., $10 gets you in the door and there’s a grand prize called a “Bacchus Box” for the best costume, including four cases of Lost 40 beer, a mixed case of Presqu’ile wine, and a bottle of Rock Town Distillery Whiskey.
