Kevin Cole

On display from Monday, Jan. 16 through Saturday, Mar. 4, Hearne Fine Heart is hosting a new exhibition by Pine Bluff-born artist Kevin Cole, whose work lives in the permanent collection at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. The exhibit, “Where Do We Go From Here? II: Exploring Gerrymandering and Voting,” recently debuted at the Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia and explores the present reality of Black voter suppression across several Southern states. Pieces include life-size ballot boxes with evocative imagery, state-shaped metalwork overlayed with local dirt and sculptures featuring Cole’s signature necktie motif.
