If you enjoy supporting local businesses and/or drinking craft beverages, life just got a little bit sweeter, because four new stops have been added to the “Locally Labeled in Greater Little Rock” passport, a guide to the metro region’s artisan breweries, wineries and distilleries. Created jointly by the Convention & Visitors Bureaus of Little Rock and North Little Rock in October of 2015, the guide has grown from 10 original stops to 14 after a recent surge in area brewery and taproom openings. New entries include Core Public House and Flyway Brewing Company in North Little Rock and Rebel Kettle Brewing and The Water Buffalo & Buffalo Brewing Co. in Little Rock.
The passport is more than just a handy checklist of all the local beverage options in the area; visitors to participating establishments can get the passport stamped at each stop and then exchange completed booklets for prizes, including a custom sandstone coaster (10 visits), a “Drink Like a Local” t-shirt (12 visits) or both (all 14 locations). So far, people from 14 states have returned completed passports, some from as far away as Pennsylvania and Alaska. It’s a testament to the popularity of both craft beverages and culinary tourism.
Passports are available at all 14 of the participating venues, as well as at local and state visitor information centers (including the Arkansas Welcome Center in Little Rock, located behind the State Capitol). A complete list of locations with information about transportation, dining options and availability of tours, as well as a download of the passport, is available here.
