It was science fiction that saved me – and countless others – from despair growing up. One of the first SF writers I discovered was Jules Verne, whose stories captivate readers to this very day.
Verne’s birthday (1928) is today, and though I have Googled and Googled – a Herculean task even for the physically fit among us – I have discovered no special holiday set aside for him anywhere on the planet.
In February alone we have International Tooth Fairy Day and International Pancake Day, but nothing devoted to Jules Verne?
