Arkansas Forestry Division awards shade trees to school playgrounds in ten counties

Sycamores, oaks, tulip poplars, black gum trees and planting supplies are headed to 12 public schools in Arkansas, thanks to a program called STOP (Shade Trees on Playgrounds) from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture's Forestry Division.

Planning commission recommends Heights neighborhood tree ordinance for approval by board of directors

At a Little Rock Planning Commission meeting on Thursday afternoon, commissioners unanimously voted to recommend the city board of directors approve an ordinance presented by the Heights Neighborhood Association that would create a design overlay district in the Heights. 

Markham Street property owners fear gas line work damaged trees

Homeowners along West Markham Street think recent gas line excavation may have damged trees lining Markham severaly enough to cause them to fall. The gas utility is taking a look.

Free trees from Entergy

A friend passed along a note on the Heights neighborhood Yahoo group. Perhaps this also came in an Entergy bill, but I never look at them.
