The academy’s Documentary Branch screening committee has declared 15 titles eligible to compete in the derby. Next, these titles will be evaluated by branch members, who’ll whittle them down to 5 nominees.

It’s unfortunate that “Wordplay” was shut out of the competition.  It is the second highest grossing doumentary this year and featured Little Rock’s Vic Fleming.
