Picture this: You, a date, cheese dip. Or this: You, your parents, cheese dip. Now this: Just you, cheese dip. Best yet: You, on stage with 15 gallons of your own homemade cheese dip, your parents and your date in the audience wearing T-shirts of your face, waving cardboard cutouts of the same; your actual face, determined, a grin made of queso, ready for your pride and joy, your liquid gold, to duke it out against several competitors from across the globe, each of them here for this day, this moment, in Central Arkansas, where cheese dip was born.
Take that last snapshot with a salted corn chip, but I imagine a similar vision of grandeur will be present at the 9th annual World Cheese Dip Championship. Even if you don’t enter the competition, there will be music and cheesy samples, the flavor of competition, and the opportunity to decide who takes home the title of World Champion and the $500 grand prize. The event benefits the Harmony Health Clinic in its mission of providing health and dental care to the medically underserved and uninsured in Central Arkansas. Get tickets here.
