Oct. 3-5, Drake Field, in conjunction with Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week
Painter Kellie Lehr and textiles artist Suzannah Schreckhise will exhibit their work as part of Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week Oct. 3-5 at Fayetteville’s Drake Field. Tickets to NWAFW, available here, are required.
NWAFW CEO Robin Wallis Atkinson will give a talk at 6 p.m. opening night Thursday, Oct. 3. The art exhibition is presented by the Arkansas Arts & Fashion Forum.
Lehr, an Artist INC fellow with the Mid-America Arts Alliance, is curator and director of The Gallery at Midtown in Bentonville. Her layered geometrical abstractions have been exhibited in the Arkansas Arts Center’s “Delta Exhibition” and in solo shows and she’s been selected by the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts for NMWA’s 2019-2020 juried registry.
Schreckhise, who holds a B.A. in art from the University of the Ozarks, was a 2018 Artist INC fellow and has exhibited her 2D and sculpture nationally and in Arkansas. She is also on the registry of NMWA. Her work in “Layered” combines crocheted knots and painting.
Thursday night’s runway shows will feature designer Basana Chhetri, Big Sister, Ethwes, Herron Hats, Hope & Faith, Robbie’s Era and Rosie Rose. Guest speaker will be Gabrielle Korn, who served as collection judge and is the former editor in chief of NYLON.
Friday night’s event features vendors and designers 4ME Jayla Lee, Crystal La’Shay, Felix Bui, Framed in Fashion, RubyRu Designs and Samantha’s Garden.
Saturday’s runway shows include 2 Boudoir Chicks, Ashton Hall — The Collection, Bizarre Couture, christianMICHAEL, Elizabeth, Ellen Elaine Educational Collaborative, House of Colby, Off the Record and the R Gene.
