4 p.m. Oct. 19, Hearne Fine Art, 1001 Wright Ave.
Hearne Fine Art, where works by Kevin Cole, Alfred Conteh, Alvin Roy and Tafa are assembled for the show “Ubuntu: I Am Because We Are,” will hold a panel discussion with Cole, Roy and emerging artist Matthew Fields, whose work can be seen in Hearne’s emerging artist gallery. All are products of historically black colleges — Cole and Fields from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Roy from Texas Southern University — gallery founder/director Garbo Hearne said. An artists’ reception follows the talk. “Ubuntu” will travel to other galleries after its close Dec. 21.
