“Moon Flavor,” works by Sulac

By Leslie Newell Peacock

9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 30.

Work by Sulac, The Art Department show at Thea.

Thea’s August Art Department features “Moon Flavor,” drawings and paintings by Sulac. The “collection of mixed media pieces is a series of animals (mostly,” he said in a news release.

The Art Department series of the Thea Foundation features the work of both emerging and well-known Arkansas artists. Sulac’s show opens with a reception from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Thea, 401 Main St. in Argenta.

Friday is National Coloring Book Day, and it just so happens that Sulac will debut his first coloring book at the reception. The 25-page book, “Looking for the Moon,” will be available for purchase. Crayons will be available at the reception so buyers can start right away.

Tickets to the reception are $30, and cover heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine. There will be a drawing for a free ticket to the next Art Department show.
